Do you want to connect with other new parents, share tips, or just have fun?
The Maternity Champions Project launched in Queen’s Park (South), W10, as a two-year pilot in 2014. Following a successful independent evaluation, the project expanded to:
- Westbourne
- Harrow Road
- Church Street
- Abby Centre (Churchill Gardens and Tatchbrook)
The Maternity Champions Project provides support to expectant and new parents, offering a programme of fun and informative activities – all of which are FREE!
Our programme includes activities such as buggy walks, baby massage, musical drop-ins, baby playtime, and coffee mornings with guest speakers, plus much more.
The Maternity Champions are local volunteers trained in National Childbirth Trust (NCT) courses, such as Breastfeeding Peer Support. They offer information and informal support to parents, while also organising engaging activities for you and your baby.
Our dedicated Maternity Champions Volunteers also provide Breastfeeding Peer Support on the wards at St. Mary’s Hospital.
We have built strategic partnerships with local organisations such as Creative Future, Change4Life, the Portman Family Hub, Queen’s Park Children’s Centre, and Family Hub.
We are currently recruiting new Maternity Champions. If you are local to any of the areas we cover, passionate about helping others, and have skills to contribute, we would love to hear from you!
